WDYT of these names, take II

WDYT of these names, take II?
More random, unusual, and/or "out-there" names that I've come across. Please give me your honest opinions of them. If you could tell me why you like them or why you don't, that would be great too. Note: I am most likely not considering any of these as names for my future children. I realize some of them would be a bit ridiculous in real life. :) *Iona (Heard it in a movie) *Rosine (pretty, no?) *Sugar (could it work as a real name?) *Nuala (pr. NOO-la, first heard it in an Irish movie) *Oceane (pr. oh-say-AHN, supposedly one of the most popular names in France at the moment) *Vesper (heard this over at Appellation Mountain. It kind of grew on me. What do you think?) *Agnes (I think it's ready for a comeback. What say you?) *Tzipporah (pr. zi-POUR-ah. I love it spelled with the T. It's the original Hebrew form and it's so much more...zippy. Too hard for American tongues?) *Querida (kay-REE-dah. The Spanish word for "dear." I think it would make a cool name.) *Nicolette (I've always nursed a soft spot for this French diminutive of Nicole. Yea or Nay?) *Linden (I knew someone in high school with this name. Linden is also the name of a sweet-smelling flower) *Hadassah (means myrtle tree in Hebrew. I think it could work with the nickname Haddie) *Margarita (I know, the drink connection is really weird, but this name means pearl in Greek and actually has a very long history) *Garden (it's actually a legit Basque name meaning "transparent, clear. Could it work?) *Ysabeau (really interesting take on Isabel, and kind of sidesteps that whole craze) *Pilar (though normally heard in the Spanish-speaking community, I knew a girl of non-Hispanic heritage in high school with this name. Is it ready for mainstream?)

*Iona - I love this name. :) *Rosine - It's cute! *Sugar - Hmm maybe a middle? Lots of people say Sugar to replace swear words. I don't know if that's just here in Ireland or not. *Nuala - It's a bit old lady-ish. *Oceane - Sounds so fresh :) *Vesper - Reminds me of Vespa! *Agnes - Aggie is a cute nickname *Tzipporah - Noo.. *Querida - I would have said it was pronounced Ker-eed-ah. My mum is fluent in Spanish and that's how she says it. I love it as a name. *Nicolette - It reminds me of Nicorette *Linden - This one is cute. *Hadassah - Not sure how I feel about this *Margarita - Margarita pizza?? How about Marguerita? *Garden - Please don't *Ysabeau - Love it :) Also love it spelt Isabeau, Isabeaux, Ysabeaux *Pilar - I don't like this one.

Iona - It's kind of pretty. For some reason it makes me think of a friendly Spanish woman... Rosine - I don't like it. It sounds a bit like an allergy medication Sugar - No, I really don't like this. Nuala - I kinda like it. The pronounciation doesnt match the spelling though Oceane - I love this! I'd never heard it before, but now its one of my favorites! Vesper - Too fairytale-ish Agnes - Ew, I don't like this at all. I don't think it needs a comeback. Ever. Tzipporah - It's cool I think, but yeah, it's not right for Americans. Querida - This would be a cool name, as long as the kid isnt spanish. Nicolette - Love it. Its 10 million times better than Nicole. Linden - Is this for a girl or a boy? I like it for a boy, but not a girl Hadassah - Meh. I don't love it. Margarita - It would work as a middle name, but not a first name because of the drink. Marguerite would be awesome though! Garden - I don't like it. It just doesn't sound nice. Ysabeau - I kind of hate it. It sounds like you're trying to hard to be original. Pilar - It's kinda cool. I could actually see it getting popular...

Iona- pretty, I love the Scottish Isle names; Iona, Skye, Canna, Danna...very nice. Rosine- not a fan the 's' becomes too harsh sounding and ends up sounding like Rozeen Sugar- nickname for your boyfriend or girlfriend not as a first name Nuala- I prefer the elongated version of Finola. And generally it's pronounced No-lah or Naw-lah Oceane- I like this one pretty and unique especially if you have a connection to the sea. Vesper- no, it reminds me of Vespa Agnes- definitely not, poor child. Tzipporah- interesting, the 't' might throw some people off though Querida- again, works as a nickname or salutation not a first name. Nicollete- Beautiful. I love this name and am glad you are spelling it traditionally. The other day I was on here and someone was spelling it N-i-k-k-o-l-e-t-t Linden- my friends last name, but I do like it as a first name too. Hadassah- I like Haddie, Hadassah is a little too different for me. Garden- not unless the child is born in a garden. Ysabeau- it reminds me of Rachel Ray's dog's name Izaboo. I have no idea why I know that, I'm not a fan of hers. Pilar- I had a really good friend at uni named Pilar. I didn't like it at first, but after getting to know her the name grew on me.

Good thing I have an open-mind and can see the possibilities where others don't. • Iona --- I really like the sound on this. It's pretty. • Rosine --- Now, would you pronounce it "row-zeen" or "raw-zin"? Personally, I kinda like "raw-zin" better. • Sugar --- I'd probably use Sugary, but spelled "Sugarie"; and use Sugar as a nickname. Could probably even use Suri as a nickname as well. • Nuala --- I keep wanting to say it "noo-ala", but I like it. • Oceane --- I like Oceanus more, which is the name of a Titan from Greek Mythology. • Vesper --- It's my favorite girl's name from a movie, Casino Royale. • Agnes --- I don't care what others say, I think it's a nice strong name for a girl. • Tzipporah --- It's very unique, I like it. Nicknames you could get from it are Zippy, Ora, and Tipsy. • Querida --- Unfortunately, most people would probably look at this and see "queer" in it. • Nicolette --- I think it's a nice change from the very common Nicole. • Linden --- A nice alternative to London. • Hadassah --- It's nice, but I feel like I'd have to be of a certain culture in order for it to work. • Margarita --- Why not? It's no different than me liking Merlot as a potential name. Nickname could be Rita or Margo. • Garden --- I could actually see this as a lovely "nature name". 1st name that came to mind to pair with it was Sophia. "Garden Sophia" • Ysabeau --- I don't really like the sound of it. Personally, I'd change it to something like Ysaboa. • Pilar --- I like it, but it's one that I think would need some careful consideration as to what names to pair with it in order for it to migrate successfully into mainstream society.

Iona - 10/10. I love this name :) It's a huge favourite of mine. I have it down as a middle name though. I personally like the combination Alice Iona. Rosine - 7/10. It's a nice name, but there are other names that I'd consider before this one. Rosie would be a cute nickname though. Sugar - 1/10. This could never work as a name for a person at all. Nuala - 5/10. It's alright, but I'm not huge on it if I'm honest. Oceane - 6/10. It's pretty, but I wouldn't ever use it. Vesper - 6/10. It's okay, but it seems more of Guilty Pleasure name more than anything. Agnes - 7/10. I do like this name but again it's more of a Guilty Pleasure than a name that I'd actually use. Tzipporah - 4/10. I'm normally a huge fan of Biblical/Hebrew names but this time, I'm not feeling it. Querida - 3/10. I'm not liking this name, sorry. Nicolette - 5/10. It's okay. I don't hate it but I'm not in love with it either. Linden - 4/10. Um, not really liking this name to be honest. Hadassah - 1/10. Again, even though I'm normally a fan of Biblical/Hebrew names I really don't like this one. Margarita - 3/10. This name makes me want to have pizza "/ Garden - 7/10. It's kinda cute (: I actually like it. More of a Guilty Pleasure name though. Ysabeau - 3/10. Meh, it's alright but I don't really like it. Pilar - 1/10. I'm sorry, but no way would I ever consider using this name. The chances of ridicule are far too high. There ya go, Victoria
