Do you think a Muslim woman can become a nurse in the U.S?
I want to become a nurse and I was wondering if your allowed to wear a headscarf if your a nurse in America..I know that your not allowed to in France because it's illegal, but are you allowed to wear a Muslim headscarf that just covers ur hair in American hospitals? thanks :)

I don't know of any reason why you wouldn't be able to wear a headscarf as a nurse in a hospital. As a patient, it certainly wouldn't make any difference to me.

Muslims can become nurses in the U.S but if the headscarf is not allowed then you may just have to take it off while you are working. Think of the crash helmet. People may like wearing them on their motorbike but that doesn't mean they are allowed to wear them in the bank.

I don't see why not. This is the United States. You could sue em' out the rear if that was the only reason they wouldn't hire you.

Why are rich Asian countries not expected to be politically correct?
The UK, US, France, Sweden, the Netherlands, etc, are all absolutely full of immigrants, and in the case of the UK and the Netherlands completely over-populated. To suggest that immigration needs to be more controlled leaves you open to all sorts of accusations of being a racist or a bigot in rich white countries. On the other hand, rich Asian countries like Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and perhaps Malaysia have notoriously tough immigration policies, it's nowhere as easy to immigrate to those countries as it is rich white countries. The governments only want highly educated, already wealthy immigrants. You get absolutely no hand-outs in those countries and to get citizenship is ridiculously difficult, in the case of Japan in most cases you have to be part Japanese to stand a chance. Japan takes a few low-paid Filipino nurses but they almost always go home after a few years when their visa runs out, they never get permanent residence. Yet no one calls these countries racist or bigoted for this? If rich white countries treated immigrants like this we'd be called racist and selfish, yet the world leaves these countries free to treat people how they like. In those countries you can't be considered a part of that country unless you are racially from that country, in the West that is considered an extremely racist attitude. The Japanese and Chinese were colonialists too so don't pull that crap.

Everybody else is a foreigner. The US therefore has an obligation to allow immigrants, because unless you're an American Indian, you are technically a foreigner. The US does not belong to white people. They can't just shut off the continent from people of other races. When Japan occupied the Philippines in WWII, hundreds of thousands of Filipinos flocked to Japan and there is a substantial population of Filipinos in Japan to this day The Muslim state of Xinjiang and the Buddhist state of Tibet belong to China, as a result, the Chinese also have millions of Muslims and Tibetans in their country. Japan and China are not as homogenous as you think they are. Furthermore, Europe colonized North America, South America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Therefore you would expect much much more multiculturalism in Europe compared to Japan or China Here's a perfect example for you How many African countries speak Chinese or Japanese? None. How many African countries speak French, English, Portuguese, Spanish? A lot. Where will many of these Africans therefore immigrate to if they wanted to leave Africa? France, UK, Portugal, Spain etc etc That's the price Europe paid for colonizing

They want to preserve their national culture and ethnic heritage much like the U.S.A. did before the disastrous 1965 Immigration Reform Bill. Also it helps that their governments are not filled with elements that don't consider themselves Japanese but rather a distinct ethnic group that would feel safer living in a multicultural Japan, China, Singapore, etc. Thus they can resist multicultural American propaganda.

How can I transfer my study/shool from France to US
How can I transfer my study/shool from France to US?
Hi, I go to school in "Université de Nice Sophia Antipolis Faculté de médecine" and I graduate in 2011 "diplome d'état de Sage-femme". I want to transfer to a US med school (DC area universities like Georgetown, UMD, George Washington Univ...) with a similar program. In France I can work after graduation and my education allows me to see patients, make prescriptions... In US I think I will qualify as nurse. But what I want is to continue/transfer my school and get a full medical degree (physician). I have to find out about the transfer of credits, language requirements, tests, exams, and payment options. I have a sponsor in US in case I need to and living arrangements also. Any information and resources would be very much appreciated! Thanks

You will be considered a straightforward applicant to Medical school as your diploma will be regarded as the equivalent of a BA. To attend Medical school in America, you need the following: Language exam to show proficiency in English MCAT A GPA (they can calculate this if you give them your exam results) $50,000 a year for the tuition fees Enough money to show you can feed and accommodate yourself or a sponsor who will sign for you

France is sending "massive" medical aid to Libyan opposition in the liberated city Benghazi. The humanitarian effort comes amid criticism of the French government's dealings with authoritarian regimes. The French government has announced that it will send two planeloads of medical aid to support Libyan opposition territories. The planes, which are due to leave on Monday, will carry doctors, nurses, medical equipment and medicine to the liberated city of Benghazi. "This will be the start of a massive humanitarian aid operation to the populations of liberated areas," French Prime Minister, Francois Fillon said on Monday.

The current crisis could push hundred of thousands of North-African people to immigrate in Europe, France has a colonial past in Africa and always watches closely what happens and above all there is the problem of oil. Countries act almost only for their interests, humanitarian actions aren't priorities and often hide an agenda. By the way, the US have positioned some of their forces near Libya and the American government has warned Gaddafi that he should step down. The US are also negociating with the UN and NATO to block the Lybian aerial space, so implying Obama is being passive doesn't make sense. 3Li7E: "We hate the French, the world hates the French" The world doesn't hate the French, France is actually one of the most liked and admired countries in the world, only English-speaking people, particulary the British and some ignorant Americans, have a problem with France.

Libya is in France's back yard. They're neighbors and major trading partners. We did the same for Haiti. We can't be everything to all people anymore.
