Have you ever donated blood or plasma? Do you have a memorable experience

Have you ever donated blood or plasma? Do you have a memorable experience?
I was wondering about other people experiences with donating. I just donated blood for the first time.. and I'm going to be donating plasma soon so I can pay for my France trip. I recently donated blood.. and I had a memorable first experience. After the nurse pulled the needle out and asked me to lift my arm and apply pressure.. I did. I also looked away so I could talk to a friend who was doing doubles. When I looked back.. my entire arm was covered in blood. And I was definitely apply pressure.. lol. I actually became the topic of discussion in many classes I'm not even in! I was talked about all day at school!! Haha, I'm a junior too. Last time I tried to donate.. I couldn't because I didn't have high enough iron. And this time.. the bleeding thing. But I definitely liked it. I'm still light headed though.

when i found out my grandmother had leukemia and blood transfusions were pretty much keeping her alive and able to have a decent quality of life, donating blood became super important to me. i have one memorable story though... on sept 11 2001 my roommate and i sat stunned watching the news. we both had tears streaming down our faces. we felt helpless and wanted to do our part however we could. i looked at her and said "they are going to need blood" we called immediately and made appointments to go give blood that day. i remember the nurse on the other end did not know what was going on. she seemed confused. it wasn't long after the phone call that they started asking people to go donate blood. by the time we went in to donate, the blood center was packed and news crews were there. we all sat huddled for hours waiting our turns to do this one small thing. i remember when it was finally my turn i was surprised to see they had brought TVs in so those donating could keep watching what was happening in new york. as my bag started to fill up with my blood i heard over the TV this beeping coming from the wreckage. my roommate and i wondered what the eerie sound was. it was later we learned it was coming from the firefighters lost heroically in the wreckage. the whole day. the whole experienced is carved deeply into my heart. i've given blood many times before and since. but never have i felt so connected as one human to the rest of humanity. giving blood and plasma is something very selfless and important. it is something to be proud of. i hope you have a blast in france!!!! what a great way to make some money and do something that does save other peoples lives.

I need help with creating cons for my persuasive essay: Medical cost and companies should be eliminated

I need help with creating cons for my persuasive essay: Medical cost and companies should be eliminated?
I already have my pros and 2/4 con. but I can think of any. PROS: -No more denied requests from medical insurances (Kyser,Blue Shield, etc.) -No more kicked-out patients that cant afford to pay the bill -If you needed a $60000 surgery done, you wouldnt need to fly somewhere else to get it done free if you couldnt afford it (like France) -Free medicare CONS: -Employess at the medical insurance places would be jobless -doctors and nurse's pay would go down (isnt that what taxes do?) so yeah, i need help with creating more cons. Exuce me? Im not saying they would work for nothing! NEWSFLASH! They would still be working to save lives. Andnd its a fact that medicare insurance companies do deny requests because they arnt willing to give ythe sacrafice of things to save that person. Ever seen the movie Sicko? you'd know. So many people have died becuase their insurance companies wouldnt help them pay for their needed care. Please explain how it violates the 10th Amendment

Medical care would deteriorate and be rationed (who wants to be around sick people all the time for even less pay?)
2 :
So you are saying Doctors, nurses, lab techs, medical assistants, orderlies, should all work for nothing? I guess we can shut off the lights in the hospitals, since there will be no money for life saving equipment, services, or electric period. You know that $100 you make a week, well now the government wants $70 of it to pay for all your free medical care. Aren't you lucky? In America you are NEVER turned away from emergency medical care for no insurance, NEVER! Even if it goes to $100,000.
3 :
if health care is free then people go for no reason making too much stress on the system causing the overall care received to decline if you just make health care a free market it would become cheaper due to supply and demand you take away another perk that employers can offer making it harder to be competitive to hire the best employees all the extra work and strain on the health care system will cause a back log in the system and it will take longer to get help this could also cause the government to start "penalizing" people who aren't living a health lifestyle
4 :
Instead of the jobless argument, .... - medical services, if not provided by corporations, would need to be provided by individuals or partnerships, and that is not a very efficient way to deliver the type of medical care we have and expect today. - overall quality of care would go down due to not being able to organize and re-organize people and capital efficiently - because health care is a utility needed by everyone, but not everyone can afford it, if people are expected to give services away, the best and the brightest would be dis-incented from considering health care as a career.
5 :
Taxes would go WAY up (there is no such thing as a free lunch) Demand for medical care would go way up (when cost is lowered to zero, demand will go sky high) The quality of care would go WAY down. The government would have have taken one more of your liberty's away. No mater how noble the cause, using the police power of the state to take money away from taxpayers to FORCE them to pay for something is wrong. It Violates the 10th Amendment to the Constitution, In a Republic, that's a big deal.
6 :
Two more cons: it would slow down the development of new drugs and technologies (since profitability would be lower) it would result in slower care since the system would get overloaded
